The day of Erin’s wedding was an unexpected turn of events. We arrived at the venue, a remote lodge that promised to be a beautiful woodsy backdrop for a winter wedding & modern bridal look. All was well except it had not been plowed. As a result, we were stuck and unable to enter, a small hiccup for a beauty team entrusted with making the wedding party look and feel amazing for the ceremony.
Thankfully, we headed to the nearby Airbnb that was booked for Erin’s bridesmaids, and we were able to get the bridal party ready. After what seemed like a Christmas miracle, we learned the venue was safely plowed, and our beauty team moved back to the beautiful bridal suite within the Fraser River Lodge. From within this lovely space, we finished working our magic for Erin’s ‘getting ready’ photos.
Hair:
We created a soft curled look with a Hot Tools one-inch extra-long curling iron. I softened the curls by curling alternate directions back to back for a less uniform, and more natural look. We gave lots of volume in the back by using powder and a teasing comb throughout her hair. Schwarzkopf products allowed us to give the entire look a strong hold and staying power. For added shine I used Kevin Murphy Shine Me spray
Makeup:
For her modern bridal makeup application, Erin requested an airbrush finish. She had an amazing base to start with, but we did do some skin prep to help slough off any dead skin along with some extra hydration. For a defined look, we brushed up her brows and filled them in by using a Mac brow pen in the shade Spiked.
For her eye makeup, we used the Natasha de Nonna Glam Palette for a steeped, shimmery smoky brown. We featured a crisp black-winged liner using Danessa Myricks Colourfix in the shade, True Black Matte
Extra drama: I also used individual eyelashes to make Erin’s eyes even more of a beautiful focal point. I applied the airbrush with Perfect Canvas foundation in the shade three, contouring with the airbrush highlight in Mac Hyper Real Glow palette
I finished off with a light Danessa Myricks powder in the shade Ice for the inner corners of her eyes. For her lovely bow lips, we used a warm natural brown in a creamy pink finish. We set everything with a setting spray from Blue Marbles to lock in the look. I love using it for all types of weather.
Voila I couldn’t be happier with the end result from Erin’s and Sean’s wedding. To say her aesthetic, his goals, would be an understatement. We can’t wait to do more weddings with this refined luxury style.
