You’ve said yes to the dress, venue, and flowers. You’ve booked your Bridal Trial and feel confident you’re going to love your look. One month away from her wedding, a bride’s to-dos take on a whole new meaning. Self-care is vital when it comes to achieving that beautiful bridal glow on your dream day. To help you balance your beauty goals, we’re sharing our one month out bridal beauty timeline. Breathe deep and trust the process!
Glow from within by staying hydrated with plenty of water and sleep. Healthy habits are the first steps to fresh skin and feeling rejuvenated. Once the basics are covered, take a moment to reflect on your skincare routine. However, now is not the time to try out new treatments! We highly recommend you keep it simple in order to avoid adverse reactions or breakouts. Do practice safe fun and wear SPF diligently in order to stay protected from unpleasant sunburns.
However, if you are looking for extra magic, dermaplaning (an aesthetic service where a blade glides across your face to remove hair + exfoliate the skin!) has relatively no down time and is great for almost all skin types (except skin types with serious acne). This treatment should be done one week before your wedding.
Set your brow goals early. The best brow results need a few months of growth and professional shaping. In the 5-7 days before your wedding, it’s time to get a brow shape + tint touch. You want to be sure you leave enough time for any redness or residual dye to fade. You can always hand tweeze any stragglers the day before!
Work toward achieving silky smooth hair a few months before your 4-week timeline. Consistent hair treatments will improve the quality of your hair. As your wedding approaches, schedule your last cut and colour at least 2-3 weeks before your wedding. The reason being that you’re going to want a fresh yet lived in colour (unless you are working with a vibrant shade!) We want to avoid any harshness in the colour or dying of the scalp and hairline.
If your bridal style calls for those effortless pieces, ask your hair stylist to snip your face framers, so they are prepped for us on the day of. Blondes! Don’t forget to tone your brassiness with a purple shampoo.
One hydrating or amino acid treatment (that you’ve previously tested) always helps, about 3 days before your wedding.
Beautiful shapes will define your eyes in wedding photos. How you achieve that length & definition is up to your bridal makeup look. For volume and drama with minimal liner, use lash extensions. It’s a great option if you’re going on your honeymoon right after and plan to have some low-key makeup days at the beach. Get a fill within a week of your wedding if you plan on extensions.
Opt for strip lashes day of if you want to wear a bold liner, have that “sparkle” from a defined lash line, or if something permanent just isn’t for you. We also offer individual lashes which gives the lash extension look without the extra cost and time. However, they will last the day of your wedding.
Lashlift + tints are also having a major bridal beauty moment. This two step process involves tinting eyelashes a slightly darker shade and temporarily curling them for more natural volume. Book your lashlift treatment 48 hours before your wedding.
For soft and kissable lips, care for your lips like you would your skin. Begin to exfoliate in the week before your wedding. Dry lips do not work well with most long-lasting lipsticks. As per your one-month bridal beauty timeline, keep your lips ultra-hydrated with an intensive lip balm or mask on the night before your wedding and in the weeks leading up to it.
Moisturizing, shaving and tanning (if that is your aesthetic) have an important sequence to them. If you plan on getting a fake tan, follow the guidelines sent by the technician, so you can optimize your beautiful, bronzed results.
As a rule, you’ll want to book your tan two days before your wedding. However, consider giving it a test run a few months out to make sure the tanned look is to your taste.
Pair mind and body by keeping up your exercise routine and healthy habits. Being consistent with your workouts will help you manage any pre-wedding emotions.
Our biggest suggestion, opt for a beautiful fake tan to achieve your bronzed goddess goals. Practicing safe sun will allow you to keep your skin hydrated with a natural glow. If you want to build up a subtle glow on your wedding day, book a trial spray tan with a spray tan studio at least 1 month before. Then, you’ll know exactly what shade your skin will turn when you get it done again two days before your wedding.
If you’d rather use self-tanner and DIY, start incorporating it into your routine 3 months before your wedding, so you can find the perfect regime. Regardless of the way you choose to get your glow, thoroughly exfoliate your skin before getting a spray-tan.
As always, follow the guidelines communicated by your tan technician. There are important steps to follow, such as only showering eight to twelve hours after the first application and avoiding exfoliations or other body moisturizers that may cause streaking. Most importantly, test, test, test! Book your last appointment for 1-2 days before your wedding, so it’s fresh.
Firstly, tailor your manicure & pedicure colours to your wedding style. When you know what you want, it’s time to enjoy that fully coordinated mani & pedi duo about 1-3 days before your wedding. It’s the perfect time to feel fresh, relaxed, and ready before the excitement to come.
Remember to skip the hand scrub if you have already done your spray tan!
