It’s safe to say that 2020 wasn’t the best year for weddings. Sadly, the year ended with many Vancouver couples having to put their big wedding day dreams on the back-burner. Other than postponing again, there are plenty of options for those looking for an alternative wedding celebration. One of those is an intimate micro wedding. 

With restrictions permitting, a micro wedding consists of a smaller group of under 50 people. While the idea may seem a bit non-traditional, think of a micro wedding as just like a normal wedding, just a bit scaled back. Not only can they still include many of the elements you’ve dreamed of for your regular ceremony, but these ceremonies are usually even more intimate and special than a larger ceremony.  With fewer people, you have more time to spend one-on-one with your closest friends and family and more time to focus on every special moment. The Wallace Venue

If you’re looking for a modern, yet intimate ceremony, The Wallace is the place to be. This venue is located on the Lower Lonsdale waterfront in North Vancouver, with stunning city and ocean views. Featuring a spacious outdoor patio and industrial-chic vibe, this venue is the perfect size for smaller ceremonies and elopements. 

All of their packages include use of their indoor and outdoor areas, 50 garden chairs, 15 six-foot-long banquet tables, venue concierge, and post-event cleanup. 

Brix and Mortar

If you’re planning a small ceremony, but still want that same feeling of luxury and glamour, why not have your special day in a stunning restaurant? Brix and Mortar is a restaurant located in the Yaletown neighborhood of Vancouver and they’re currently offering a one-of-a-kind venue for ceremonies. The event will be held on the restaurant’s outdoor patio, illuminated by seven-tier glass chandeliers for a beautiful and sophisticated ambience. Brix and Mortar also offers the option of a private, semi-private, and non-private dinner afterward for afternoon time slots.

Their ceremony package includes a black aisle runner, up to 30 chairs, a signing table and guest table with white linen, lanterns down the courtyard hall, (limited) crystal candles on the millwork, water station, access to sound system/speakers, and a minimum of 2 staff. They’re also able to arrange a rehearsal if needed.

The Lodge On Harrison Lake

Any couples who love nature and the outdoors are going to adore The Lodge on Harrison Lake. This waterfront boutique lodge is surrounded by stunning natural scenery, including mountain and lake views. The property also includes 2.5 acres of private beaches on Harrison Lake and a variety of water-based activities including kayaking, canoeing, fishing trips, and even private yacht tours of the lake and to the serene Rainbow Falls. In short, there is plenty to do at this venue before your big day arrives!

Packages include a two-night stay in one of their lake-view guest suites, marriage officiant, personalized bouquet and boutonniere, one hour of wedding photography (with an online gallery of downloadable highlight images), personalized wedding cake, coordination and day-of coordination, and a Lakeview ceremony. 

Rowena’s Inn

Located at the Sandpiper Resort in Harrison Mills, Rowena’s Inn offers an intimate wedding ceremony package that combines the beauty of the outdoors with a luxurious all-inclusive experience. You, your partner, and up to 40 guests can take in the stunning waterfront and mountain views in a relaxing and romantic setting. Choose either a laid-back bohemian-glam setup or classic tables and linens for your ceremony. Every detail has been thought of here, even down to your wedding dinner, prepared by a culinary team using locally-sourced ingredients and herbs grown right at the resort.

Cecil Green Park

The Cecil Green Park House is the definition of old-world glamour and vintage elegance, from its stately exterior to its beautifully decorated rooms. This mansion is set by the sea in Vancouver and surrounded by expansive gardens, making this a great choice for both indoor and outdoor micro weddings and elopements. With their micro wedding package, you’ll have access to the main floor of the house, covered terrace, and private gardens. This means you’ll have plenty of room for social distancing and creating the perfect ceremony and reception.

Cecil Green Park offers two packages, one for micro weddings and one for elopements. Micro weddings include pre and post-ceremony deep cleaning and surface sanitization, set up/tear down of their tables, chairs, and easels, and staffing, which includes a dedicated event manager, custom floor plan creation, an onsite venue coordinator, and one to two onsite security guards. 

Elopements are outdoors, with access to the terrace and grounds only. This package includes a private event sign on the grounds and a thorough clean and sanitization of the terrace surfaces.
